  1. Remove Factory Exhaust Components (3” & 3.5” Systems) Remove the factory muffler and tailpipe assembly.
    - 3” System: The new exhaust will slide into the factory slip joint where the original band clamp is located.
    - 3.5” System: Remove the factory DPF connecting pipe as well as the pressure line attached to it.
Apply lubricant to the rubber hangers to make removal easier.
  2. Install DPF Connector Pipe – 3” System With the factory system removed, install the 3” DPF connector pipe using the original band clamp
  3. Install DPF Connector Pipe – 3.5” System With the factory system removed, install the 3.5” DPF connector pipe using the original three bolts and gasket. Re-attach the pressure hose to the pressure fitting on the pipe.
  4. Install Mid Pipe – 3.5” System Fit the mid pipe section and secure it with the supplied 3/8” UNC bolts and nuts. Ensure the gasket is properly seated between the flanges.
  5. Install Tailpipe – 3” & 3.5” Systems Install the tailpipe section and fasten it using the supplied 3/8” UNC bolts and nuts. Confirm the gasket is correctly positioned between the flanges
  6. Check Clearances Ensure all components have adequate clearance from surrounding vehicle parts.
  7. Start-Up & Leak Inspection Start the vehicle and check all connections for leaks. Adjust as required.
  8. Completion Enjoy your new IGNITE Exhaust system.

Q: Which Ford 4x4 models and years are Ignite 4x4 Exhausts compatible with?
A: Ignite 4x4 exhausts are designed to bolt up to popular Ford 4x4 models including the Ford Ranger (covering PJ/PK, PX1-PX3, and Next-Gen series), the Ranger Raptor, and the Everest SUV. Each kit is engineered specifically for the vehicle’s chassis and engine, ensuring clean fitment with the correct hangers, flanges, and hardware. They accommodate all common variants of these models – for example, a Ranger kit will fit all cab styles (single, extra, or dual cab and works with both manual and automatic transmissions. If you’re unsure about your exact year or sub-model, the site’s Find Your Vehicle lookup tool can quickly confirm compatibility before purchase.

Q: Are Ignite 4x4 Exhaust systems a direct bolt-on installation, and will I need to retune my Ford after installing one?
A: Yes, Ignite 4x4 exhaust systems are designed as direct bolt-on replacements for the factory exhaust, using the existing hangers and flanges for an easy installation (all necessary hardware is provided). There's no need for any cutting or welding – you can remove the stock exhaust and bolt the Ignite system in place using basic tools. You also do not need to remap or tune your ECU after installing the exhaust; Ignite’s 4x4 exhausts are engineered to improve flow and performance while working safely with the factory engine calibration. In other words, you’ll get the power and sound benefits without any additional tuning or ECU modifications needed.

Q: What performance gains can I expect from installing an Ignite 4x4 Exhaust on my Ford?
A: Upgrading to an Ignite 4x4 exhaust will help your engine breathe easier by reducing backpressure with a free-flowing, mandrel-bent pipe design. In real terms, this means your turbo spools up faster and the engine can produce power more efficiently – many owners feel a sharper throttle response and a modest bump in power/torque after installing the exhaust. You might also notice a small improvement in fuel economy, since the engine isn’t pushing exhaust through a restrictive stock system. If you tow heavy loads, the better exhaust flow can make a difference as well: the engine can run a bit cooler and pull more effortlessly under stress, giving you a smoother towing experience. All these gains are achieved without needing any ECU remap, simply from improving the exhaust flow dynamics.

Q: What does an Ignite 4x4 Exhaust sound like on a Ford? Will it be too loud or cause droning?
A: Ignite offers multiple sound options so you can choose how loud or quiet you want your exhaust. If you want a more subtle exhaust note (for daily driving or touring), you can select a system with a muffler or a resonator (hotdog) in it. The muffler-equipped setup will be the quietest, giving a mild deep tone and is ideal for minimizing noise during towing or long drives, while the resonator option provides a middle-ground – a bit more growl but still controlled and with very minimal drone. For those who prefer a more aggressive note, Ignite also offers straight-through pipe-only configurations (no mufflers at all), which deliver the loudest, most robust sound. Even the loudest setup is tuned to avoid drone at cruising speeds – you’ll get a deep sporty roar when you accelerate, but not an annoying cabin drone on the highway.

Q: What materials are used in Ignite 4x4 exhausts, and are they mandrel-bent?
A: Ignite exhausts are made with high-quality materials and advanced construction. All piping is CNC mandrel-bent to maintain consistent diameter through bends, which ensures optimal flow and minimizes restrictions compared to press-bent pipes. Most Ignite 4x4 systems use large 3-inch diameter tubing (some specific applications even up to 3.5-inch) for free-flowing exhaust gas, yet are designed to fit in the factory routing space without issues.
They are available in two material options: aluminised mild steel or 409 grade stainless steel. The aluminised steel option is a cost-effective choice — it’s essentially regular steel that’s hot-dip coated with aluminum-silicon, giving it enhanced resistance to heat and rust. For maximum longevity, you can opt for the 409 stainless steel upgrade, which is a high-temperature, corrosion-resistant alloy ideal for exhaust use. (409 stainless is the same grade often used in OEM 4x4 exhausts because it withstands constant heat cycles without cracking, unlike 304 stainless which can become brittle in exhaust conditions.) Ignite backs their 409 stainless systems with a 10-year warranty (and provides a 2-year warranty on aluminised systems) to underscore the durability of the materials. Additionally, all Ignite exhausts feature thick 10mm laser-cut flanges and robust hangers, ensuring a precise, leak-free fit and long service life.
